Since I was born and raised in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, I have to include a little Motown in this mix tape. Though there have been many remakes of this song, there’s nothing like the original.
This past weekend, Mike and I were virtually showered by family. This “COVID-friendly” version included a Zoom gathering, hosted by my mother-in-law, and two sister-in-laws. Toward the end of Summer, we were blessed by another shower. It was an intimate gathering of friends and family, hosted by my mom, sister, best friend, mom’s best friend, and aunt. Though each of the showers were incredibly different, one thing was the same… they were both so full of love!
Our journey that has led to us becoming licensed foster parents has not been easy, but to know that we have love and support has definitely helped us through. No matter what you’re going through, it’s important to have some type of support network. Then, when you are feeling down, you have someone to help you up (Ecclesiastes 4:10).
I honestly don’t know where we’d be without our wonderful family and friends. This doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel, but…

Giving you and Mike a shower this past summer was so much fun. Even though it was a little different being “Covid friendly” with masks (made for everyone by my cousin, Leslie), plenty of hand sanitizer, social distancing and more, the love that was shown to you guys was more than obvious.
